Vintage Tasting Notes

Vintage 2021

  • Cabernet Sauvignon (Wilyabrup, Margaret River)

80% Ironstone (Wilyabrup) Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Clairault Block A1 (Wilyabrup) Cabernet Sauvignon, 10% Bridgeland (Karridale) Cabernet Franc.

    Appearance
Dark red with a slight brick‑red rim, showing early signs of development.

    Nose
Dark fruits with a shift toward red‑fruit expression: cassis, black plum, and lifted red berries. Subtle tertiary hints adding complexity without dominating.

    Palate
Elegant and finely balanced, supported by vibrant, still‑fresh fruit. Lower alcohol displays cooler, more precise palate shape. Tannins are smooth and integrated, giving structure without weight.

    Finish
Clean, persistent finish with red‑fruit drive and understated savoury detail.

The wine remains in a beautifully balanced phase, showing both maturity and lively fruit. It should continue to evolve gracefully while retaining its elegance for years to come.
