LIZ MENCEL - Consultant
B.Com. (Marketing)
Liz has 30 years’ experience in export marketing and business development — including more than two decades in the wine industry. She specialises in helping wine producers and regional bodies build international markets and strengthen brand capability. Her work spans wine export, marketing and strategy, informed by senior roles with Stella Bella Wines, Flametree Wines and Domaine Naturaliste, as well as eight years running her own export businesses in Japan and the USA. Most recently, Liz led the WA Wines to the World program, a major state-supported initiative driving export growth for Western Australian producers.
She is also active in industry development and education, having facilitated Wine Australia’s Growing Wine Exports program and developed/delivered Curtin University’s Wine Marketing & Business unit. Her governance contributions include roles with the Margaret River Wine Association, Wines of Western Australia, and Wine Communicators of Australia, where she currently serves as a board member.

MARIUS MENCEL - Winemaker
M.Eng. Sc. & B.Sc. (Viticulture & Oenology)
Marius is a highly skilled winemaker, graduating with high distinction in 2004, with 11 commercial vintages in Western Australia and internationally, including St Emilion, Hermitage, and Napa Valley. He has comprehensive expertise across all aspects of winery and vineyard operations, gained at wineries of diverse scales, from boutique and mid-size custom-crush facilities to large corporate production.
Marius also brings experience from a 12-year career as a professional engineer, where he gained skills in production management, quality systems, and team leadership. This background complements his hands-on approach and practical problem-solving in the winery.
In 2015, he established a custom-crush micro-winery specialising in small-scale, handcrafted wines. His winemaking philosophy is simple: respect the fruit, the variety, and the terroir.
